This didn't happen originally, but I'm not sure when it started. But now after starting the car and driving off the heater does not start-up for several minutes. No fan, nothing. Then it starts normally with the previous settings.

I can even use the demist sitting on the driveway before setting off, that works fine. But switch off the demist and you have to wait for minutes before the normal mode starts up.

We can often get a couple of miles down the road. Really annoying.

I think the heater heats up pretty quickly, at least it does to demist/defrost. Also, the heater is already "warm" after several minutes demisting/defrosting, but still the cabin heater refuses to "get going" and you sit in the car at around 5°C for a couple of miles!

Mine does this more often than not so I’ve given up using auto. Sometimes it’s fine but mostly does nothing for about 5 minutes then goes nuts.

I’ve got front vents, screen and floor selected and wack the fan up to about 8 or 9 using the favourite option on the steering wheel then turn the fan down when it’s warmed up.

Don’t think it’s anything to do with the heater warming up first as if it’s on auto and I remotely turn on the heating using the app it works straight away and then stops completely once I get in and hit the break peddle to start the car and goes nuts again about 5 minutes later. Seems like a software bug to me.

mine is slow to start for about 30 seconds, then fan is very high, but slows as the journey goes on, by the time I've driven for a few miles or 3/4 minutes depending on traffic it slows down to a normal level for the rest of the journey. Only does this with fan on auto. If I set a fan speed then it's constant for the entire journey from the second I start the car.

Without knowing the heater settings in each car then saying the software is inconsistent is not helpful. I'm not saying it isn't crappy software but there are that many variables that statement may not be totally correct.

Is the fan speed on auto? What's the temperature difference between the interior and exterior? Is the car in eco mode? etc.

In my case the fan is on auto (which works well once the system is running), the car is not in Eco mode. It makes no difference if the heater is in Eco mode or not. Temperature difference between the cabin and set temp recently would be anything from 10 to 20°C+

Mine seems to have improved over time, getting warm quicker than it used to.

Mine takes a couple of miles to start working (same with the radio sometimes). I also have a problem with the heat switching off (but the fan still blowing) after 30 miles or so. It can get very cold in the car then and have to adjust the temperature to get it working again. I've tried eco on and off as well as auto on and off but can't find a solution.

Mine started doing this after its last update in December (I'd taken it in with complaints about the heater system not working properly - had to turn it to extremes to make any difference). I'm guessing it's to allow the heater to get up to temperature before turning the fan on so it's not blowing cold air at you when you don't want it to.
