Looking for advice, I have just bought a used MG ZS EV 15,000 miles and I’m waiting on my 7KW point to be installed. In the meantime, I’m trying to use the granny charger at my house from an outside socket but it is saying connected but not charging. I then used a socket inside the house and it charges.

I’ve also got another high rated socket outside which powers the Jacuzzi, so I plugged a 13amp heavy duty extension to the granny charger and it does the same thing and say connected but not charging, I’m wondering if anyone has come up against the same issues and had fixes or if it’s a faulty granny charger?

Thanks for your help :)

Thats is a strange one the fact its working in house but not on outside plugs so either the charger is detected a fault like a bad earth or maybe your running a ethernet extension over the power lines? The chargers don't like the data traffic in your power cables

It sounds like an earthing issue, get a socket tester and plug it in to see if there is an earth present or if the live and Neutral have been reversed.
