High Beam playing games

Yesterday evening I was waiting for the lights to turn green when a car waiting for green at the other side of the cross road started flashing with his high beam. no Idea why but about a mile later I saw a strong light reflection coming from the front lights of my car. High beam was on! But there was no blue indicator on the driver display.
Apparently this was already the case when I was waiting at the lights. But high is only available above 40 kmh...??

Any had similar experience?

nope.
are you sure that your high beam was on? did go out of car and checks the light?

Yes. I do not need to get out and check. I saw the difference immediately after disabling and enabling auto mode: less light.
