Horrendous noise!!

Hi. Long time since I posted but thought I’d ask you experts

Drove my car earlier today and it was making a horrendous grinding, whirring, banging noise, the sort of noise you’d expect if an exhaust was hanging off but obviously it doesn’t have one!

It went on for about 5 minutes, people stopping and staring because the noise was so loud, I pulled over about 3 times and checked underneath, the wheels etc..nothing obvious.
Then, the noise stopped completely?!

Really bizarre and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I think you should join this thread I've recently started!!

If anything is going to go wrong with our cars, then those of us who had them first, will probably experience it earliest.

We are after all, part of the same S.A.I.C "Cheap, Reliable And Patient" Consumer Road Testers Association.

Oh dear! What's wrong with it now?


P.S. If I had to guess? a stone caught between the disc and the backing plate.

That can sound horrendous but soon passes as you grind the stone away or it comes free.
