I use CarPlay a lot, and a couple of days ago, I had an album cover in the CarPlay box on the ‘Home’ screen. Wow, I thought. Never seen that before; it’s usually just a blue box. My first thought was that an update had occurred. Short lived though, as I haven’t seen it again. I wish I had taken a photo.
Has anyone else had this? Or maybe everyone does see album covers displayed there, and it’s just me without them??

what were you playing, music you have saved on your phone or Spotify? Today I noticed album cover on one of Spotify songs for the first time ever but that was one off. I'm on Android Auto ...
I think that is not down to the car but to info attached to the file...
came across this if that helps:
"Open Settings in CarPlay using your vehicle's built-in controls, then turn Show Album Art off or on."

what Toyota says on the subject: "Certain newer vehicles will not be able to display the Album Art when the vehicle is out of the Park gear."

Thank you for your reply. I use Spotify - ‘settings in CarPlay’? Where would that be - I don’t seem to have that.
Anyway, I guess it doesn’t really matter, as I have all the album art when the CarPlay screen itself is open, and that’s what I usually have on. If I ever see album art on the home screen again, I will make sure I take a photo.

So, I tried today and used Android Auto with Spotify; in Spotify and AA all pictures/album art are shown; I switched the screen a few times between car home screen and AA and some songs show alum art on home screen and some don't. It must be to do with info that the car receives from the file that plays and it's nothing that the car itself can do about ... (my guess)
