In the title really. I've been with octopus go for years but I've looked around and on Martin Lewis site and I see that....

My octopus go is
62.22 standing charge
5 overnight hours at 8.5p
19 hours of 26.02

E-on is
64.28 standing charge
7 overnight hours at 6.7p
17 hours of 24.57 (and fixed for year and I fear octopus will go up slightly in line with cap)

Anyone with them or have an opinion?

Even BG seem to be beating the octopus rate and it is fixed for 13 months. The standing charge and day rate will vary by region so it’s not 100% easy to compare however. I get 54p standing, 5 hours at 7.9p and day rate of 24.5p. Export at 15.1p all with BG though they can be a nightmare of a company !!!

Eon standing charge has shot up!
We are on E.oN Next Drive fixed V4, s/c 56.9/day. 6.7p/KWh 12-7, 23.95p/KWh 7-12

Our Smart export with Eon is 16.5p/KWh

I may move from Octopus Go to Eon Next Drive but cannot get an answer out of them re the night rate. Simple question - does the cheap night rate apply to all electrical usage eg washing machine and dishwasher or just EV charging? If anyone could help answer this I would be most grateful. Many thanks.

I was on E-on Next Drive last year and have a Pod Point dumb charger. It was all electricity usage on the cheap rate.

I have octopus IGO.
From 1/4.
Standing charge 47.6p per day
Peak rate 05:30-23:30 28.995p per kWh
Off peak rate 7 p per kWh

The standing charge seems all over the place.

Export now is 15p per kWh, I dont have the April rate yet.

I'm using around 200 kWh per month so the lower standing charge wipes out any unit cost saving

Must admit that we've also found a 10p / day reduction (midlands area) in the standing charge on IOG, also they are noting that (coming soon) a IOG fixed tarrif is available.

Same here in Yorks, nearly 10p standing charge reduction but day rate up by 2.4p to 27.48p.
Have expressed interest in the fixed options ahead for info.
