Esure I am currently with them on my ICE car, I should give them a call today

Thanks they are actually my current insurer too but that expires on Monday at the moment. Will wait till I have confirmation of collection date (hopefully this week). Going to take out the free drive away insurance to start with.

If you speak to the insurance companies on the phone and they still cant find it, you may have more luck quoting the ABI Code...

It should not be an issue with Admiral/Bell/Elephant (all the same company, or at least affiliated).

I got a quote from Admiral today via the Meercat site. It only came up with 9 quotes.

You would have thought that MG would have got this matter sorted out with the insurance companies months ago.

we tried QMH, SAGA, ‘go-compare’ and ‘compare the market’ one of the compare site came back with a single stupidly high figure in the £3ks and the other came back with nothing, SAGA was can’t help ring back tomorrow and try again, QMH - car wasn’t on site and who knows when they will come back with a price via email, which was a tad worrying as picking one of the cars up tomorrow.

Elephant quoted just over £400 fully comp with business use so may have to switch from QMH tomorrow if I get no joy - bit of a pia just a few month into the policy though but at least it’ll be covered.

Im a bit surprised the meerkat site gives some quotes and others nothing for the same car wonder if the registration has to be on the DVLA database already ?

No, the reg is not required to quote, and can be updated when you get the reg plate. ?

Anyone had any look getting Hastings to insure a MG4 ? It’s who I’m currently with and the MG4 isn’t on the drop down list when I try amending it online.

Some sites list the original UK cars under "MG" and the new Chinese ones separately under "MG MOTOR UK".

Quick update both QMH and SAGA refused to insure the MG4s at the moment, so both policies had to be cancelled and we switched to Admiral multi car who were also much less stressful to deal with.
