Interesting read! If the timelines of modern car companies were investigated, many old or defunct names will crop up! For instance, I had an NSU in the 70s. That company was taken over by VW in 1969 and merged with their Audi auto division. Think of all the other names that are but distant memories now.

It's the same with bikes, lots of old British names being resurrected by typically Indian or Chinese companies, Norton (again), Royal Enfield, AJS....
