It's not just you. I have this irrational feeling that if the car is presented clean and tidy, the garage will take more care.

I'm the same, leave it with them clean and tidy. Although I did call in the Mazda dealer with my MX5 to get them to check the boot lock when I was passing and completely forgot my shotgun was still in the boot, despite the fact I was on my way home from shooting.

The one that p!sses me off at the garage I've been using for the last 5 years is I generally hand it over clean and tidy and a couple of times it's even been spic n span !!
Everytime they've handed it back with an extensive tick list and "vehicle washed prior to return" has always been ticked and it never has!! If they're obviously just going through the list , what else have they without actually doing ?
