iSmart MG4 EV how does it work

Hi fellow MGeans, i have an MG4 X-POWER, fantastic car, love it! Based in the caribbean, one regret is that iSmart doesnt work here! I tried reaching out to MG China but no reaponse, that was via an email on their corporate website.
Does anyone understand the connectivity involved between the car and the mobile networks? What infrastructure is actually required to make it work? I might be qble to comvince network providers if i understamd what is required to be in place to make it work. Thanks in advance for constructive responses.

The car uses a mobile data connection to "talk" to the configured MG server. In the UK/EU cars this is an eSIM ... in some other geographies (e.g. South America?) I've read that a physical SIM is needed.

At the MG server level the car is bound to an iSmart user account. When the user opens iSmart a message is sent to the MG server to poll the car for an update on parameters: so the device uses the Internet to connect to the MG server, and the server uses the Internet to connect to the car; the final step being a mobile data connection.

That's my understanding.

Thanks for the response. In the case of a sim card, where would that be installed, i have not noticed any sim slot. If there is, will the sim be calling internationally to the Europe servers? Or its just used for activation ?
