Does anyone know if the Kia adapter will work with the MG5, by any chance? It has a really nice design, looks much nicer than the Screwfix twin socket on a charging lead effort that MG are selling!

I believe all VTL adapters are essentially the same so probably yes, but I'm sure someone with more info will be along shortly.

They are different. As posted by James of evcables.com on speakev forum..

"... the main difference between the two products is that the Kia/Hyundai implementation of V2L requires the use of a toggle switch whereas the MG is controlled by the infotainment screen. They also use different resistance values and slightly different wiring to signal to the car that the cable can be used for V2L. The most important thing to note is that they are not inter compatible with each other as the IEC standards have left it to each individual manufacturer to implement as they please."

For that reason they sell different version for MG vs Kia/Hyundai. See...

That's the answer I needed, thank you for clarifying!

If you own one already and it’s possible to open it up, you (or an electrician) can easily modify it to work with an MG5…
