Locking wheel nut

why bother with alloys when plastic wheel aero covers take less then a minute to remove and hundred times easier to handle and sell ...

Must admit I like a nice, alloy wheel. If chosen correctly they can make, even the most mundane of cars look good. Just wouldn't put locking wheel nuts/bolts on them. 🙂👍

Yes, love nice alloys but I was talking from "entrepreneurial" point of view ... used wheel covers are £50 on eBay ... each!!!😉
But, we are lucky ours are not in demand ...

Someone else might like them too lol for the price of £10 I put a set on . They may not take your wheels but a nice set of tyres will go down nicely 🤑

Fair enough. It's up to the owner. 🙂👍

I have a 72 plate, they don't come with it.
I assume if I get puncture the RAC or AA have universal ones that fit.

Yep, a Sledgehammer. 😉🙂👍

Just had a puncture and the garage needed to weld a standard nut onto the (rusty) locking nut to remove it. Of course the wheel nut key was destroyed in attempts before that, so needed the sledgehammer approach for the rest of the wheels 'cos without the key what happens if you get another puncture. So, in addition to the cost of the tyres there was also a £50 fee for removing the locking nuts. I then had to drive home with one nut missing on each wheel. £5 for 4 new nuts from Amazon prime next day.

It's not the first time this has happened. Why do tyre places not stock wheel nuts?

That's my point about locking wheel nut/bolts. There shit. Look at the trouble you've just had. You don't need locking wheel nuts/bolts these days. 🙄🤪
