I did not want to divert the "Bolt on the seat " post so here goes. Can any one else think of the effects of having one or two large permanent magnets ( ie motors ) slung under the car.
Not included in the MG brochures for the green credentials for the MG4 but lets say you are leaving the Glastonbury festival and the car park exits are chocker blocked, you spied a route through the camp site to a less known exit and go off piste passing all the garbage along the way . After a couple of hundred yards you have collected enough tin cans to earn yourself a recycling badge , akin to a magnetic grab at a recycling centre.
A second more serious concern would /could be ; you take the family for a picnic , crossing a farmers field to get to your chosen spot you happen across some concealed recently churned up WW2 ordinance complete with magnetic detonators which up until now were seized but the extra flux from your motor has jolted them to life, that will test the airbags! Lets see what " Geoff buys cars" makes of that?
Moral : if you go off road , wait until the Range Rover goes fully electric and follow that. :D o_O

The magnetic field is contained within the stator housing. And if any such field did escape, then the strength diminishes by the square of the distance, so any field underneath the car would be very weak. :)

Not that such logic would dissuade Geoff or the other nutters. ?

Well, you could have left it for a few hours...
