OK I may be parting with my MG5 soon ( depending on the wife )
I love the car apart from the headlights 💩 . Basic car no frills but served me well '
Why am I looking to change it ? :-
I was looking at the possibility of upgrading it when I saw that they were selling off new MG5s for £21K so I had valuation on my 22 plate with 28000 on the clock and was told £10,200 or under if it was in bad condition ,which it isn't .
I've got 2 years left on my PCP and the balloon payment is £10994 . What sort of valuation will i get in 2 years ? 5K?, 4K? or less ?
That's when my toys went out of the pram . Looked at VTing the PCP and that would cost me £2K and I could walkaway .
Popped in to see my local dealer and explained my predicament and I'll probably go for a 73 plate ZS SE LR . They gave a far better part ex and the payments will be about £10 a month more .
All I have to do now is convince the wife . I'm not a lover of SUV styling but she loved my Renault Kadjar back in the day.
Wishes of luck gratefully accepted 😄

Isn't that just kicking the can down the road ?

I know how you feel. I loved my MG5 Excite, it was an amazing introduction to EVs. But when I realised it was worth way less than the balloon payment I wanted out of the PCP ASAP. I took VT as soon as I hit the 50% point and managed to get one of the last MG5 SEs at the reduced price. Best move I made, it’s much improved on the original.
Good luck with the upgrade 👍

Probably ...but Guaranteed Future Value isn't worth a shit these days . Surely that should be against trade descriptions ?

Update .
Plans have changed . Took my wife in to look it over and there was a October 22 ZS Trophy LR . 17000 miles , Sunroof all the bells and whistles £700 cheaper . My wife didn't like the dogtooth cloth on the SE . I wasn't bothered but had to admit it looked beautiful in leather .
Picking it up Friday ..'er indoors rules ;)
