Hy guys, today I had to switch my summer tires with the winter ones, so I asked to guy to lift up my car on the elevator. Well, the surprise was waiting to be seen. The shield is not looking too good, there is missing one screw and the shield itself has a strange shape (it looks like it was bigger than it supposed to be and because of that it made a round bump) see picture. Any idea how could I solve this issue and from where I could get the parts? Thanks

The screw is missing, that's all I can tell you. I heard is a know problem but no recalls. I don't know how that spare part would be called in English or from where to get it. I don't even bother with MG.

Oh, I see. I also saw other people report this situation. The material of this board is very easy to damage. Removing it will not affect the use. It is mainly for aesthetics.

This is the under-tray bulge issue, discussed widely, for example:

There is s technical notice (I can't recall the proper name) in Australia (AS-TEC-02112023-01), but I don't know if there is one for the Europe. It's possible that this notice does apply in Europe.

Edit: In Australia, it is accepted that this defect will be repaired under warranty. The fix involves a metal brace and longer bolts.

No one from China has ever mentioned this patch, I told them to check their cars and urged them to fix it

That photo shows that the rear undertray "fix" (bracing piece) has already been fitted - simply that the bolts either weren't properly torqued, or that they used the original bolts rather than the longer ones that are needed with the brace piece. (I'm assuming that it's the bolt at the right side in the picture that is missing - the photo is a bit too small for me to be certain).

The undertray "fix" is not on my car unfortunately that's why this problem occured. In the second picture I've shown you how it can be fixed but I don't know how that fixing part is called like, in order to purchase it and have it installed by myself

I checked my car which was manufactured in September 2003 and it does not have the patch. I have not received any reports from other Chinese car owners saying that the patch can be applied.

So shielding the battery compartment is not important? I would not like to drive a car with this opening during the torrentials rainfalls we had this summer.

This is the protective plate for the rear motor, mainly used to protect some wiring harnesses and prevent stones from hitting them

The raised area has the BMS and connectors on the outside of the battery, and the connectors face the cockpit.
