MG 7 year warranty.

Hi Guys

After selling our 72 plate MG5 Trophy back in February 2024, we'll be soon coming back to MG5 ownership with a 22 plate MG5 LR. A question on the MG 7 year (?) warranty......

Given that we all know the 7 year warranty covers less and less as ownership rolls on https://www.mg.co.uk/sites/default/files/2021-10/MG_Online_Warranty_Statement_October_2021.pdf, our new to us MG5 LR will be in it's fourth year by the time we get it. It comes with FSH which is good but thinking about the "what ifs" and something breaks or goes wrong in year four onwards, has anyone ever taken out a third party warranty from year 4 onwards?

I approached our local supplying dealer about offering a further two years third party warranty on top of the ongoing MG warranty and they came back with a Spotify (Stellantis) package cost of £685.

So is it worth running two warranties side by side for the next two years and does the cost justify it?

Personally I'd say no. No way would I I buy a 2nd warranty, at a cost of nearly 700 quid, when it's still got 4 years of the the manufacturers warranty left. Who's to say the new warranty is worth the paper it's written on. IMO definitely not.

Any of those warranties I have had are useless. I would save the money
