Hi all and thanks in advance for the help.

I'm looking for my first ever HEV, and came across this site recommending the MG HS 1.5T Plug-in Hybrid. I live in Manchester, UK. I'm currently driving a Peugeot 208 Tech Edition S/S. Hoping for some honest reviews/feedback from drivers of the car, as I've seen varying reviews online. General reviews welcome, but some specific Q's from me:

  • Is it a cost efficient / what MPG are people getting out of it?
  • Does it feel cheaply made (some reviews suggested this)
  • Has it got decent acceleration? I like a bit of bumf!
  • Will I need 3 phase power to charge it?
  • Is it cost effective to repair when things inevitably go wrong, or are parts expensive?
  • Would you recommend?! Looking to keep the vehicle for 5ish years.

Thanks

Will

Best go and look at one you do not need 3 phase to charge it I just use the granny charger for 3 my older one. Depending on how you use the the car on MPG but used my one too and from work in summer just see electric and in winter petrol and electric mix. For the cost of fixing take a service plan as the 4th year is around £500 to £600 but you get 7 year warranty on main units. The old which was top of the range was good build.
