From all the reviews, spec sheets and the pictures online I haven't been able to figure out if the MG3 Hybrid+ uses just the windshield camera for driving assistance, including ACC, or has a front radar somewhere hidden.

Usually when there's a front radar it's either behind the logo or at the lower air intakes in form of a small square unit. For the MG3 I don't see the square unit nor the logo; looks like it could be hiding the radar.

It will have a radar behind the bumper and not necessarily where you expect it to be.
For example, I thought the radar on my car was behind the square body coloured panel under the numberplate, when it is in fact, behind the main bumper and not at all obvious from the outside.

I’ve read the owners manual and it does not mention a front radar… that’s why I was wondering. I have a Subaru that has ACC without a radar, but has stereo (2) cameras.

I’m starting to think that the MG3 uses just the single camera for ACC.

Never say never, but I very much doubt SAIC would be wasting money developing two different systems for their cars.
(Happy to be proved wrong by @siteguru OBVS)

I can't comment with any surety re. the MG3+, but I'd be surprised if the ACC feature wasn't using a front radar system like the MG4 (as well as the camera at the top of the windscreen, behind the triangle section of the glass - the camera detects the vehicle type, and the radar detects the vehicle distance).

From talking with the salesman the other day, I understood there was a camera and radar at the top of the windscreen, but to be honest I was taking in so much information on the day that I couldn't guarantee this to be correct.
