MG ZS EV 2021 software update for the ISmart app?

Hey guys

Recently purchased a 2nd hand MG ZS EV (2021) the model with the charging port thst you need to press in and lift up to access

I've seen some posts online stating that this version never had ismart compatibility and some suggesting there may be a software update at some point, has anyone heard anything about this or is it highly unlikely it'll ever get support to use the app?

If i remember it correctly, the car does not have the hardware to talk to the app and no dataplan.

If the car does not have a dataplan, it will not be able to talk to the app.

I would rate it "highly unlikely" that your gen.1 ZS EV will ever get this capability.

Agreed. The closest you can get is Open Vehicle Monitoring System, which is a sort of DIY third party add-on. The pre-facelift ZS like yours is well supported. See the MG EV Unofficial App Support & OVMS Forum and search for OVMS if you are interested.

There are links to the ZS EV forum near the top and bottom of each ZS thread page. But I think you want a link to where the OVMS for Mark 1 ZS EVs is discussed.

I thought that we had plenty of these, but when I search I find that there aren't many. One complicating factor is that back then, the ZS EV was the only MG EV, so they didn't tend to mention the model explicitly.
