Ok, it can't but I was a bit concerned about taking the ZS EV through any flooded roads or across a weir until I saw this ?

Obviously you need to consider the water depth (most weirs do have depth markers)

Blimey, they bothered to make a video (with dramatic music and editing) about a car driving through 6 inches of water?!
I've driven through water way deeper than that in cars and motorbikes!
Stuart, me too. What I was mainly concerned about was water + electricity don’t mix, and while it’s one thing to have water spray while driving it’s another to take the car for a swim ?‍♀️

I'm sure the battery is sufficiently water protected. The MG couldn't be certified safe without proper insulation of the electrical components. I'm not at all worried about that.

One of the 'James and Kate' videos is much more impressive than that..........

on a second viewing its not that impressive........just a couple of large puddles...?

Yeh, thanks for sharing but not all that impressive, been through much deeper as well (not in the MG though).

@Stuart Wright - as you mentioned it, I used to like green laning and the deepest I took a bike around flooded lanes not far from me was up to seat height before it stopped. Had to push it out, obviosuly, and when I got back to dry ground, took the panels off and emptied out the airbox, dropped the bottom off the carb and emptied that and after a few kicks it started and I was on my way. Happy days :)

It didn't even look 6" deep to me, barely above the depth of the tyre walls.

Just got to worry about rust.
Riding home from work in the 90's on my CBR600, the water was so deep that navigating round traffic, I actually hit a tall kerb face on and came to a sudden stop. It was quite deep. No distinction between road and pavement. All submerged.

Riding around in a disused quarry on our field bikes about 40 years ago we found a hidden dip and were happily riding through with our feet on top of the engine (Yamaha DT100).

My mate managed to find a ditch on his Honda TL 125 and promptly disappeared with only his chest showing.

We got the bike fished out and lit a fire to dry him and his clothes BUT the bike was just kicked several times before it started quite rough for a few minutes before running smoothly again. Funniest thing was if you know TL's is they had a really small pipe as the exit from the silencer and water was squirting out of this while he was kicking the bike.

Different times.

Two embarassing bike-related water incidents for me:
  1. Did a guided green-laning day in Wales with some friends years back, not soon after we set off we came across a completely flooded lane. The guide rode up the bank and passed the water, which was porbaly about 50 foot long from memory. I tried the same, fell off the bank into the water which was chest deep. Lots of laughter ensured, but not from me! I had some spare clothes to change in to but spent the rest of the day very cold and wet. It was miserable.
  2. Went out locally with a Paris-Dakar rider (yes, really) and came off in a river in front of her. Completely drowned my bike. Dragged it out, turned it upside down, emptied the air box, wrung out the air filter, drained the carb, kicked the bike over until water stopped coming out of the spark plug hole, then gently rode home. It took many, many engine oil changes to get rid of the milky white oil. Not my best moment ?
At least being in EV is dryer (so far)! ;)
