Some of you may have seen my previous post where I designed and 3D printed a car organiser to clip onto the rear of the front seat to provide cup holder and storage for my kids. Well it became clear that the design was flawed safety wise. In an accident the kids heads would have collided with it, so no good.
I've come up with this as my Mk.2 back seat organiser. This one sits on top of the middle back seat, and there are eyes in the back of it, so I can secure it through the back seat into the boot. This will stop it sliding, or turning into a projectile in an accident. Yes, you lose the middle seat, but it's easily removed for when you do have 5 passengers.
It's printed in two parts which slot together (fits on an Ender 3 print bed), has a phone holder each side, two cup holders, and two compartments for snacks. Each child has one each, so no squabbling!
Printed in PETG plastic for durability in a car.
I will make the model files available on Printables/Thingiverse once it's been tested by the kids.
