Hi there,

When I plug my charger into my mg it lights up for a few seconds as though it is being charged then goes back to blue and stops.

I have to instruct the car to start charging from the app?

Why has it started doing this as I used to plug in and it started automatically?

I've checked the charging schedule on the app and it's switched off ?

Any help much appreciated

I do but I've had these in for ages and can't see how they would affect a charger on a totally different supply unless I'm missing something?

You can google it, or some details here

Try turning the adaptor off and see if the car charges ok? If it doesn't then its not the adaptor

I've just checked and i don't have any adapters plugged in now as I rebuilt my pc with a WiFi motherboard. Thanks for the pointer but unfortunately I still have the issue.

Also I have just connected my van to charge from the same role charger which is a Renault van kangoo 2 ze business ev down to 13% charge and it won't charge.

The van acknowledges that the it is plugged in on the dash and app but it won't charge?
When I plug the charger in it lights up blue around the van charging socket for a second then goes to a pulsing red?

There isn't a option to tell the van to charge in the Renault app.

It's a Really strange fault,

Any help would be much appreciated

This obviously points to a fault with the Rolec charge unit ... or the charging cable (if it's an untethered unit).

If you're on an octopus intelligent tariff it acts similar, it could be waiting for the Octopus schedule. Sorry but I'm a VW ID3 looking on here as I'm considering the E4. Your symptom is similar to how my car behaves with Ohme and OI.

It is tethered, I am wondering if it is the lead myself but it looks completely fine at both ends and charges my mg 4 via command from the app. I'm also wondering if it's something to do with OVO charge anytime so I removed the charge anytime apps but I still can't charge my van as it pulses red after trying?

Head completely pickled

You say you have a Rolec charger. Is it one that can use the ev.energy app and if so, do you have it installed on your phone or tablet? Could it be, somehow, preventing the charger from running successfully?

After deleting the OVO anytime apps I now have an mg4 that charges automatically when I plug it in without telling it to charge via the ismart app.
However the van still won't charge and I suspect it has an on board charger fault and more specifically the thermal fuse is a main culprit for popping after speaking to an EV repair shop.
I've booked it in with the EV repair shop as opposed to having my pants pulled down by Renault that want £140 just to tell me its not charging. They sound very knowledgeable and hopefully they will get to bottom of it.

Thanks for all your input

I will update hopefully on repair of the van and if anything else happens with mg.

On the back of this it doesn't look good for OVO.

Would these wall charger or electric supplies stop you charging at peak time then at off peak tell the charge to start charging, but this could be override so you could top up in peak time. I thought this was the idea of the new wall boxes.
