MG4 radio issues

I have an MG4 Trophy bought in November 2024. I have an intermittent problem with the radio. Every now and again (about once or twice per week) it just freezes. When I stop the car, lock the doors then restart, the radio is almost always working again. No problem with BT audio or online audio. I’ve had the software updated, but it’s still the same. Any one else have this issue ?

I use the USB C as a music source and occasionally that freezes or plays no sound.

I can press the arrows below and toggle through music sources and the radio and that seems to get it going again. It may work for your radio problem and save you stopping and locking the car.

Thanks but I’ve tried that and it doesn’t restart the radio. Not had freezing of usb, by or online.

This is how mine 'functions' when I first drive the car after being locked (s/ware is R59):

50% of the time it will play the radio station (RDS) which it was left on when the car was locked.
30% of the time the radio station is correctly selected but the radio is paused - a click on the right steering wheel button will play it.
20% of the time the radio function has reverted to the icon shown above and needs a tap on that icon to open the radio screen - the last RDS channel is automatically selected and play automatically resumes.

I’ve had the same issue on my XPower which I took delivery of in December 24.
Radio will randomly just stop/pause at times mid drive with no way of restarting it.
Haven’t yet found a reason why or a solution

Took delivery of the ZS in December and have found the radio does not switch on at startup at least 60% of the time, have to hit the mute button to get it going, dealership say they can’t make it do it but I think I’m being fobbed off. Have opened a poll to find out how common this is!

The solution for me is to press and hold the home button until the system resets and then the radio then works. It saves having to do the full, get out of the car and lock up business.
I've never figured out why it happens (maybe 1 a month or two) but this always sorts it. Hope that helps a bit
