MG4 Trophy ER
Hi, unfortunately we have reversed our MG4 trophy into a tree branch, and it smashed the perspex cover over the rear tailgate lightstrip [anyone know the correct name?]. It's only the plastic part that is damaged.

I have spoken to our local MG dealer in Stockport and they think the whole lightstrip needs to be replaced, for ~£825 (incl parts & labour). The part number they gave me was 16815.

Any advice on how to go about getting this repaired would be really appreciated. Oh - and our insurance excess is £500 - any thoughts on whether it is worth going through this route?

Cheers

Sam

Agreed.
Don't panic!

Seems to be plenty of cars knocking about at various breakers.

Hey!
Look on the bright side.......
No fogging up of the cluster for you anymore!

On a serious note.

Will be easy to do yourself.
Plug and play. Held on with just a few bolts.

EV breakers in NI are pretty reliable and fairly priced, they'll often take a bid or have a promo code active.
Not sure how difficult that part is to fit as I just have the plain old SE but sounds simple from Bricktop's description. The dealer's quote sounds excessive but unsurprising
