MG's official stance on Tesla software fix! :(

I thought I would resurrect this thread to post an update.

After my "discussion" with Drive MG in Bristol in June about the free Tesla fix and having to pay for a technician to install it, I left it to be done at the service, when I am already paying for a technician's time.

But no, at Drive MG in Weston super Mare, I would have to pay for an extra hours time to install the update. What a load of bo**ocks.

I suppose with no oil filters or timing belts to change, the dealerships have to try and get money off the customer in other ways.

That's annoying. They did it at the same time as my last service (20th August 24) for no extra charge. I successfully did a Tesla charge at Trentham (Stoke) on Friday 30th August using the app. I only put 1 kWh in though as it was just a test. The AirBnb I was staying in (Poynton , Cheshire) for that weekend agreed to let me granny charge from an outside plug socket for a small fee. I usually charge at my folks (via granny) up there but couldn't stay there this time as they had a housefull.

In regards to your comment Joemarkh, my MG5 pre face lift charged fine at Cambridge after a faulty charger (changed to another)
Did it for 40mins but found the 12V battery was a little slow at re-start.

Drive MG have dealerships in Bristol, Weston super Mare, Darlington, Hull (Hessle), Leicester, Scarborough and York, so if you live in these locations, I'd look elsewhere for the Tesla fix.
