Hi everyone.

I picked up my new 2024 MG5 last week. Just a couple of questions someone may know the answers to. Does the car have courtesy lights? When I open the doors no lights come on. Also, does the boot switch on the keyfob do anything. I have tried pressing it but the boot doesn't release.

Yes, see below how to enable automatic function:

You need to ‘long’ (>2s) press it.

Just to add, from the manual:
When the automatic control function is enabled, the front and rear interior lamps illuminate automatically if any of the following actions are carried out:
• The car is unlocked.
• Any door is opened.
Note: Under normal circumstances, if a door or the tailgate is left open for longer than 15 minutes, the interior lights will extinguish automatically. In case of low battery, the interior lights will extinguish quicker.

Re: the button on the key fob: how long have you pressed it for? I think you have to hold it down for something like 3 seconds for the boot unlock to activate,

The boot switch unlocks the boot, it doesn't open it if that helps.

You are in the right place to ask anything about your 5.
If you hold the open button for a few seconds it drops the windows so don't sit on the fob
