So... today I parked on a patch of wet grass (there's no other type at this time of year) with a very slight decline (about 2-3%) in the car park of a stately home. When I tried to leave I put the car into reverse, put gentle pressure on the accelerator and nothing happened. The wheels just spun with no traction whatsoever. Had to enlist the help of some passing strangers to push the car as I spun the wheels. That worked, but there's a valuable lesson here, don't park on wet grass if you don't have 4wd.
