So I got a LR edition sourced from Australia/NZ or made for that market.
I'm still praying that the auto emergency brake does not result in someone crashing into me because of phantom braking and I've urged my wife to turn off ELK (to be fair, it's not as bad as AEB)
But funny enough, this is the first "non-manual" car I've owned (in 24 yrs of driving), I find the rotary "gear?" selector very unintuitive. It's a great thing that you basically almost never need to use it BUT
I find that everytime I'm doing some maneuvre that involves using the reverse and drive a lot (ex: fitting in a parking spot / getting out of it) especially when time sensitive (you're blocking traffic so you want to do it quick) I sometimes go in R and instinctively push to R again when trying to move forward..
Maybe I need to drive more to get used to it (1000km so far and of course likely 15mins of this kind of parking situation in that time) but I can't help but feel that R and D should've been reversed and also that the whole console is a bit redundant.. and maybe having it be push up for D and down for R (or forward/backwards) would be more intuitive....
Anyway hoping I adjust sooner than later, wondering if I'm alone in this
