Hi I bought a pre registered MGZSEV 10 days ago and have used a Granny charger overnight on two occasions. The first full charge showed 133 miles available and the second 138, whilst it has been cold overnight I had hoped to see a longer mileage range. What am I doing wrong?

Hi. I hope that you enjoy your new car. You’re doing nothing wrong. The range depends on your driving history and this takes into account weather conditions. In winter in N mode around 140miles showing as range is normal for most. You will find as the weather gets warmer and you use the car more the range will go up. They’re a nice car. ?

Congrats on the ZS EV :) I'm a new owner too & picked my new car up yesterday with 11 miles on the clock, I plugged in the "granny charger" yesterday afternoon just to see if it worked ok & left it on for around 4 hours until the MG badge light went out, I too had the same indicated mileage of 133 miles on a full charge.

Call your dealer and ask if the VIN appears on the BMS update notice that was issued a couple of weeks back. This will patch a significant fault that has impacted range.

If you turn it into Eco mode (from Normal) ...your mileage should immediately go up a bit. I tend to run mine in Eco mode most of the time.

Turn HVAC off and change to Eco mode for maximum displayed range. Real range will depend upon weather, HVAC use and how you drive. 120-140 miles is pretty common for real world driving at this time of year.

Eco displayed range is misleading. Safest way to check what real range you may have is to put the car in Sport mode and turn the HVAC on full.
Then when you drive in Eco or Normal you know you'll get more.

My MG ZS EV had it’s first service and the BMS software update. This has allowed the Battery to charge to 182 miles max. This read out is with the car on E mode and no heating on. Definitely fixed the battery problem I was experiencing. The best part was MG paid for my Service and I was given a model MGB roadster. My local MG garage is Purbeck MG Motors of Wareham in Dorset. Highly recommended for a friendly and skilled service. Good company to buy an Electric Car from.
