So, as we all now know, the vibes felt in the car are real.

And, as we all know, there is still no definitive repair/fix from MG despite many owners complaints on the matter.

I wanted to find out from owners like me, who have had the vibes from new, and who are now either just living with it and putting up with it, or just ignoring the vibes when using their car.

I have clicked...

Have vibes. Almost undetectable.

Unnoticeable now, so much so that I really have to think about them, to notice them.

My efforts to cure included a change of tyre which made a huge difference and a change in psi to 40 all round which effectively removed the vibes altogether.

I think the tyre change was a bit of a red herring, with just an fresh rebalance probably making the most difference tbh.

Change of modes and regen made zero difference in my case.

Thanks for taking part.

Edit: Vibes seem to be worsening with miles.
10000 miles in now and they are as bad as they were before I changed the tyres.

Vibes in my car were quite noticeable for the first 1,000 miles then calmed down. After following the forum advice of running slightly higher tyre pressure they reduced further. To the extent now that they do not really bother me.

I think there are a few factors with the vibes one of the most important being how much of your driving involves speeds above 60mph, as well as tyres, if you had to inflate them due to low pressure warning soon after delivery then maybe that is an indicator that they were too low from factory or on the trip from China.

I can't vote ... well, I can, but it would be pointless. ;)

However I'd just like to suggest that the 1st and last poll options are basically the same. As the last one currently has no votes then I'd suggest removing it. :)

I'll complete poll this evening after picking up the car this afternoon.
Lovely drive home from Ipswich...

I sensed the vibes, not bad, and they seemed to improve towards the end of the journey. I'd say the whole drivetrain is affected though it is felt through the steering, sensation is very much like motor 'cogging' or driving over a rippled road. More driving required before I complete the poll.

Sadly (and unusually)
IMO You are incorrect.

The first option is not the same as the last, is it?

Read it again.

It is for someone who knows about the vibes but has never had them at all.

The last option is for the person who has just 'wandered' onto the forum, knows nothing of the vibes, having never had them, and is wondering what on earth the vibes are.

I do hope I have now made that perfectly clear.

Off topic but still looking for any excuse to drive the thing. Apologies for any weeds/ heat pumps getting in the way

Another "Have vibes. Much reduced" here.

We've now done 5000 miles and still get them sometimes but don;t seem to last that long.

For those that have no vibes it would be useful if they stated when their car was built ?

Watched a couple of YT Xpower videos this morning , and of course the vibes are not mentioned. Has anyone seen a review were they are mentioned , I,m sure between all you owners you have seen them all, which leads onto the topic of , can you comment on them and hopefully get a response from the tester?
There is a French forum site " Automobile Propre " you'll need to translate it , but search MG4 X power and they have similar concerns about the vibes and there's 294 replies.

I haven't got the links to hand but I know of only 2 videos where the vibration issue is mentioned.

I've watched loads of X Power videos, and none have ever mentioned the vibes. Very odd or all of them have been very lucky. ??

I've watched quite a few review videos and not heard it mentioned. However I wonder if the same review car gets passed around in the UK and if that was one fine then it wouldn't be noticed.

Agreed to a certain extent, but the one's I've seen, feature all of the Colours so obviously all different cars. ?

Ergo the last option is pointless - it adds nothing (useful) to the mix. ;)
Begging your pardon, pedantomaster, but you claimed they were the same, which they are not. The last one could be more clearly expressed (eg "What is this 'vibes' issue?). In this case I do agree it may not add any value, especially if nobody uses it.

Anyway, neither you nor I have any business hanging out here as we don't have XPowers, we are just hangers-on ??

One thing I can contribute is there is some kind of perception going around that people are imagining this issue or reporting some kind of 'hum' that is a normal expected sound in a car like this. That seems to be what is coming back from some dealers: that it is user inexperience.

My impression is that this is definitely a real problem for some, but bafflingly not for everyone, but I'd suggest if you have it taking your dealer technician out in the car to demonstrate it.

Morning, new to the forum and spent yesterday reading through the many post.

As I picked up my new xpower yesterday I decided to take it out for a quick spin and coming from a Ford KA to this I did not notice any vibrations at above 60. Its a lot worse on my partners KA, which is the reason I go this car, as I was fed up of driving hers lol.

Just a tiny step up from the KA then!

Doubt you will notice the extra power to be honest.?

Nice to see you have been looking through all the old posts.

There is a massive amount of information tucked away and quite hard to find in some cases, unless the exact search term is hit.

Have fun learning your new car and welcome.

Thank you, and yes it is a massive step up.

We went out for drive yesterday and my partner did not like it when I put my foot down, to say it throws you in the back of the seat is un understatement, and that was not even using the full power of the car.
