Good morning.
Just thought I'd introduce myself. Picked up an ex demo XPower yesterday, in green, with 3k miles. Very happy with it and God the acceleration is brutal!! Also need some assistance. I signed up with Octopus energy but can't get my head round the set up. Charger is a Wallbox plus. I go through all the set up as per the Octopus app but my Wallbox app keeps saying waiting for OCCP connection, and the Octopus app won't go to the next stage. It stays like that forever so I can't even do the test charge. Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Regards
Nigel

Hi welcome to the forum, enjoy your car.
As for charging it will depend on compatibility of the car and box/supplier. Check the Octopus/Wallbox websites.

I've got the same set up @Padsdad and wish I could offer more than keep unplugging and plugging in and trying the app and it not working and unplugging and plugging in etc, but I can't.

Eventually worked after a few nights of trial and error. I'm sure there's a 'right way' but a bit like trying to get a baby out, no amount of spicy food or long walks make a difference if they're not the last thing that you happened to try.

You're going to love the car. My wife this morning, having been shown how launch control works for the first time, is maybe wavering slightly having driven it sedately for 1800 miles! Simple workaround- she drives like she wants, and I drive like I want (as long as she's not in the car!)

PS keep to speed limits, don't be goaded by Range Rovers past NSL etc (hi mods)

Thanks for the reply. I plugged it in tonight and it immediately connected, did nothing different so must have been a glitch in the matrix on previous tries.

Yes 1 day in and I love the car, its so effortless driving and well planted. Previous car was an MG5 which is very vanilla compared to this beast. Took oldest son out in it and he was actually speechless ?. When he found his tongue it was simply, I want one of these!!

Regards

I am with Octopus - Ohme wall charger goes on wall 17 June - told by Octopus that I can get reduced rate and intelligent charging when car first connected to charger…

There may be more things to do to complete this…

Congrats on purchasing the fastest colour! (?)
He won't be the first passenger to become speechless I'm sure!

Is Witney Services still there?

Fun Fact? I used to run that with my wife 1998-2000

Not sure what you mean my Witney services, maybe the one on Ducklington roundabout? If so, yes its still there. Big Lidl too just opposite.

Ah yes, I don't suppose locals would know what it was referred to by Esso in the 90's!

Sadly Tesco came along and forced us out of our franchise.

Next door used to be a large playing field where I walked the dog.

I bet it's got houses on it now!?

Are you on Intelligent Octopus Go or just Octopus Go ?

I'm on standard Octopus Go.

My wall charger won't work with Intelligent Go so I have to use the car and MG app to schedule the start and limit of my charge?. It still works fine though, just need to put no more that 40% into the battery each night to remain within the rather measly 4 hour timeslot with standard Octopus Go ! Very happy with Octopus overall though ?

I'm with intelligent Go. Had trouble getting everything to "pair" but once it did, the car charged OK that night. Don't feel so bad pressing the loud pedal @7.5p per kw/h lol.

I've got an Ohme charger, but it will not charge my MG HS PHEV. The charge history, on checking the OCPP statuses (communication between the car and the charger), I noticed the car appears to have gone into a faulted state called 'SuspendedEV'. This means that even though Ohme was scheduling and attempting to send out a full charge, the car was limiting what it could accept. Ohme say this is something usually seen when there are settings in the vehicle or a third-party app that may be restricting the charge. Do you know of any such settings that might be conflicting with Ohme, and how they can be reset on the MG?

Yeah, filling up at 7.5p per kwh is great !! (9p for me but still very happy).

BTW you could update your signature now (LHS of posts) to show what you are driving (it currently says "not an MG" ?
