We are a year in to our three year lease, and I'm keeping an eye on what might be available in two years.

Despite the Which? article dissing LK, I quite like our MG4.

We knew the boot was small when we test drove it and I thought we could get by with it, but for the next car, I'd like a bigger boot. Plus, maybe something a little higher off the frog.

The new HS looks good (the one based on the Roewe RX5) but I don't know if there will be a pure EV.

What are you considering for your next car?
 
With the new battery chemistry coming along and Europe throwing their dummies out of the pram because their motor manufacturers got caught napping by the Chinese I'll take the decision as and when I'm ready for a replacement. It might even be a sorted second hand car but it will be an EV
 
Having recently bought a Hyundai Kona (pre latest model) My thoughts lean towards Korea. :)
Good build, efficient, and loads of interesting new models coming out that will be well established in a couple of years.

I liked the Kona, but in the 18 months I owned it from new, I had 2 reduction gear changes under warranty. Didn't fancy stumping up the cost of that out of warranty, so went for the ZS.

The Ioniq 5 seems a decent motor for a second hand purchase.
 
Yes, I fancy the Ioniq 5.

I got my middle lad a 2018 Hyundai i30 Tourer. I have been extremely impressed with it and he loves it. The build quality is superb and the ride is smooth and comfortable. The engine is a little growly, but I find that endearing. It's the 1 litre turbo 3 cylinder unit.

So I'd happily get another Hyundai. Others on the current list are an ID4 and a Qashqai (if they get round to building a pure EV by then) and a Skoda Enyaq.

Atto 3 I'm not sure about, but on paper it doesn't look bad.
 
ID4 / Skoda Enyaq both very similar bed partners.
Both nice and very roomy cars.
More pennies than the MG offerings though.
Tesla model Y in a similar category but the ride is very hard !.
Skoda would be my choice based on price I think.

Yes it was a well documented problem with some of the earlier models, the 'wheel of fortune' fault.
 
Kia EV5 or 3 depending what I can afford and what their relative sizes are. I drive a (company) MG5 and while it's a great driving car it's a pita to get in and out of for an older/bigger fella.
I want a car that's easy to get in and out of, has plenty of space inside and goes far, throw in some bells and whistles to keep my eyes off the road and I'm set. I've driven a KIA Soul for years and love the upright driving position so hoping the EV5 or even the 3 will be similar.

LOL same reasons I got the Kona (Ultimate), ease of getting in and out, plenty of toys and huge range, currently sitting at 73% and GOM, which is pretty accurate in these of 253.
I think the EV3 or EV5 look interesting prospects too.
 
My next car will be vegan.

For a second car, which I can't really justify at all, I would be looking to buy a second hand Leaf, Zoe or eUp (including related models). There a lot of choice out there in the £5-£10k bracket now. For a new second car, I am interested in the Renault 5.

When we replace the MG4, it will depend what is out there at the time. I'll still be looking for good value, rear drive and good chassis and practicality, so my guess that it won't be a "premium" marque as they seem determined to make expensive EVs, but it could be from a whole host of makers, including MG if they get their software act sorted out.
