Hoping to visit in Sept - no dates yet
Pref Fri/Mon but depends on track opening
Maybe a lap or two but also enjoy food and drink…

If opening hours ltd over Sept w/e’s may go during week if open evenings…

But may delay until next year

Visit at Easter good as open Fri-Mon but again more for experience and food and drink as place usually very busy Fri and Sat…

Anybody else interested…

Can't do it this year, but may be interested next. How does it work with EVs, do they have fast chargers in the car park? I have been before but a few years ago now. Don't want to state the obvious but I'd strongly advise insurance that specially covers it. Saw a grown man cry as they pulled his Subaru off in bits.

I've also written a car off on a track day without insurance, it's pretty sobering.

I do not know about chargers at the track but are available in the area and some local hotels…

You cannot get insurance cover…

I have written car off at the Ring but had cover by chance/luck…

When confidence exceeds ability it equals expense. Scary stuff Nurburg, even if your abilities are good it's some of the other muppets thats an issue. I saw a very nice Porsche taken out by an aging Peugeot 205, it was ridiculous really, the 205 must have been worth all of £200 and Porsche I would guess well over £100k, Mortality rate seems very high.

I chickened out of going round in my car but I did have a passenger ride with the queen of Nurburg which was absolutely amazing.

Sabine Schmitz? I had a lap of the full circuit with her in a DTM Porsche GT3, amazing. Unfortunately she passed away a few years ago, still relatively young.

When I went, I flew to Frankfurt Hahn and hired a car so I didn't drive around but had a few passenger laps which was good. But the best lap was in a stripped Mini Cooper S, the guy had been about a hundred times or something crazy so he was so fast.

Other chargers around Nurburg…

Accident happen but for thousands of cars going round it is not as bad as you might think…

Have been going for over 20 years and care about your driving usually keeps you safe…

You do not have to drive like a hooligan, would you drive that way on a country or mountain road that you did not know…

Even if you do not drive but just visit it can be enjoyable… some food, a few drinks, hopefully some laughs and maybe a passenger lap or two…

Sabine used to run a bar with her then partner near BMW Motorsport HQ in Nurburg…
