I posted elsewhere on the forum (link below - post #4)) about some rather concerning behaviour when OPD is enabled. Car is now with MG for investigation, but wondered if anyone else with an XPOWER has experienced the same?

In summary:

1. Enable OPD.
2. Accelerate hard from low speed for a second or so.
3. Release accelerator.

My expectation (foolishly) would be for the car to instantly start slowing down with full regen, but in my case the car continues to accelerate hard. I cannot say for how long, as on both occasions I hit the brake pedal hard to slow the car down!!

With OPD disabled the car slows down as soon as I lift of the accelerator.

I have not experienced this, I use OPD for the majority of time. What was your state of charge? As OPD does not engage until at approx 90%.

I did not pay attention, but can confirm OPD was working fine for the 20 mins before I first had the issue and therefore I was probably under 90%. Even if OPD was not working, the car should start to slow down when you lift off the accelerator!!

I'm going to guess at a software glitch, where the car thinks it is in launch mode. ?‍♂️

True, as mentioned elsewhere sounds like a glitch of some sort. Hope you get it sorted out.

We use one pedal mode most of the time and not had this, so I would get it booked in under warranty.

Out of interest, our OPD activates at 95% charge but our car had every module checked and updated in May this year so this may be due to the updates.

I have not had any updates, don't want to tempt fate! Im used to it now kicking at 90/91%.

let's see what MG come back with. Had car 1 month and have had this issue, multiple infotainment system glitches, DC charge plug wont unlock unless I use the emergency cord and the drivers window packed up (restarted after disconnecting 12v battery.

Dealer gave me a Hyundai loan car which just works!!! Carplay/A Auto connect seamlessly and wirelessly as soon as I get in, driver safety systems don't try and pull me into a ditch on country roads and best of all - a single long press on a dedicated steering wheel button disables LKA!!!

MG4 could be such a great car!

Used OPD all the time on my Tesla M3, but prefer ReGen 3 on my XPWR.

With a car this quick you most definitely don't want it thinking, and driving for itself!
Hope they get to the bottom of it for you.?

Got my XPower pre Xmas and have only used OPD and SPORT mode every time i get in the car
Touch wood no issues at all with my car, love it

MG have had my car for a week now and I am still waiting for feedback regarding the OPD issue. However, they are updating some software modules, especially for LKA. Technician told me that there is a recall for LKA and that the update should have been applied pre delivery. I did not think there was an official recall for LKA. Will keep you posted!

It is confusing how there is such varience in our cars. I appear to have been lucky and R59 giving an easy option to disengage LKA is good. I can confirm re LKA recall as mine was done a week ago at 1st service. I cannot however for the life of me work out the LKA logic, it seems to turn off now on normal roads where there is an inside solid line and either a solid or long dash outside line, for short dash it stays on and will give a twich if its a thursday with an east wind. It does seem to stay on for dual carriageways or motorways above the pre set speed.

Car back from Dealer and issue now resolved, although they said they could not find anything wrong. However a number of modules updated and R59 installed. LKA has gone from erratic and over controlling to almost non effective, but at least it is easier to disable.

I had mild vibration at 65-70 and asked them to look into it. They rebalanced the front wheels which I expected to have no affect at all. On the drive home from the dealer I accelerated hard from around 50 to 75 and experienced REALLY harsh vibration, much much worse than before. I repeated the same acceleration with the same results about 4 times and decided to head back to dealer. I tried one more time and the vibration vanished completely. 3 days later and it has not returned - VERY ODD!
