MG5 Trophy LR
got my 3month old Mg5 trophy July last year and really like it. My dealer is over 40 miles away so any queries are normally phone calls. I had one problem, the passenger door side rear won’t open from the inside which could be dangerous. I called my dealer and he arranged to look at it during the first service.
Fault was confirmed and supposedly part ordered. After 3 months of no news I called for update to be informed they were no longer mg dealers so couldn’t get part. Next nearest dealer is 50 miles away so arranged visit in June. All was well, they updated all the software and confirmed the fault. Said they ordered part and would be in touch. 3 months later asked for update from them. They were a trifle busy but said they would check and call back in 10 mins. 5 hours later got a sheepish call explaining they had a record of the check but no record of the part being ordered and would check again and update me next week.
Is this normal for MG dealers, My last mg was a MGB GT in the Late 70s.

My experience has been reasonable, bearing in mind my car is a company car and getting a replacement car if I need it is easy. The dealer has been good apart from a couple of small issues and one big one early on.
One problem is that they don't keep parts in stock and MG don't do next day delivery so it's usually two or three days wait if anything is needed.
