PLEASE LET ME KNOW if you have had either of these problems, as they don't happen all the time, It's difficult to explain/present to MG. This is a serious worry for me, and I can't think what to do.
It started with an electrical sound, something like you got on an old radio initially when you switched it off or on when it was turned up loud. The car would make a sudden loud noise which frightened me, especially whilst driving. And then I'm not sure if it is the same problem, but a huge sound like someone had thrown a brick on top off the car. I was so shocked that I nearly went into the car in front. This noise sounded like the expansion/contraction of the car shell.

Hello Ann. The only loud, unexplained noise I've experienced is one I described in a previous post, #6 I think. Not as bad as yours, though. Anyway, give this a try...go into MG Pilot and turn off all the alarms. If that silences the racket, turn them back on one at a time to see if you can locate it.

Hi I’ve had the same thing but not whilst driving. It’s happened on getting in the car before even turning on. 4 times maybe in a month. It’s a very very loud ‘pop’ like an electrical sound and yes like radio station static for a split second but LOUD. Made me jump out of my skin.

Just a long shot, but could it be the volume setting for the key pad, screen tabs? Check that these are muted, otherwise they emit a static sound when the screen icons are pressed.

No. It happens before the ignition is even switched on. About 25 seconds into getting into the car but without actually doing anything ?‍

A trip to the dealer might be warrented. Does it sound like it's coming from the speakers?

Ive also experienced it as just sat in car cleaning inside of screen with a cloth. Heard a loud pop which sounded like it was in the roof. Thought it was bird dropping or something falling on the roof but when looked outside nothing there. The ignition was off.

I’ve had that a few times but it hasn’t happened again for quite some time. Fingers crossed. X
