Hi everyone,

Since we are living through extraordinary times, I wanted to ask whether anyone has an idea how to use the 1st Gen MG ZS EV HV battery as an emergency energy source for a house. Of course, anything short of voiding the warranty or ruining the car would be great. Thank you!

Best,
Strudel

an as Emergency (note the bold) power supply, you could use a 12V inverter connected to the 12V battery while the car is in ready state. something like This (click here for link), but a model that's 220v. Id imagine messing with the HV battery in any way is an instant void of warranty.

Exactly as above. I had a 220W inverter plugged into the cigarette lighter output for 2 days during the last storm induced power cuts. The extension lead ran some lights, wifi and powered the computers. The battery went from about 70% to 60% during those 2 days but it allowed me to continue working.
