My Dec 22 Orange Trophy was delivered yesterday and because I can't drive it until Thursday (when my disability adaptations are being fitted), I was wondering if anyone has any tips on things to check? I've seen a video online that goes through stuff like the battery cover bulge etc so I'll be having a peek at that.

Anything else?

Email MG customer services asking when the car was last serviced. They'll need the registration number. In the UK the service interval is every 12 months or 15,000 miles which ever is the sooner.

Check the external door buttons work.

Matty I don't know how disabled you are but the other obvious things for you or a friend to do are:-
  1. read the manual & test switches etc
  2. measure tyre tread depth & wear. Is the tracking ok?
  3. charge the car to see that works & check out the scheduled charging works as it should
  4. test indicators, horn, lights, wipers & screen wash
  5. if you have a battery coditioner charge the 12V battery
  6. if you have a brake fluid tester check it for moisture in case it needs replacing.
  7. top up all fluid levels & look for obvious leaks.
  8. get a torch and look underneath for damage etc.

Thanks everyone some great points here.

@JohnV6 I have Cerebral palsy so my right side is significantly weaker than my left, hence the need for a left foot accelerator. I also use a Lodgesons R200 hand control for steering, wipers, indicators and lights.

12 months or 15,000 miles Ian!!! I'm sure you know that 😉

Are you having problems with the black door seal on both sides of the car .my wife keep knocking her leg on it and causing bruising, ..Main dealer says and agrees its a design fault
