Rob - You have a Gen2 facelift model then for sure !.
The Gen 1 is the first ZS EV that MG introduced to the U.K. way back in 2019.
It came in two trim levels, excite and the exclusive model.
One traction size battery only.
The Gen1 had a black front grill panel at the front, it had a large chrome MG badge mounted in the centre of that black grill.
Pressing on this badge, would see a large section of the grill hinge upwards.
This would then give access to the charging port of the car.
The Gen2 model arrived in late 21 but mainly early 22 and it received many upgrades, this included a new style “face lifted” colour coded front bumper skin.
Access to the charging port, was now via a much smaller hinged flap set into the front bumper skin, LED headlights became only one of the upgrades here.
The Gen2 model was offered with two different battery pack sizes.
These termed as standard range and a long range models.
The standard range has the LFP battery.
Easy way to identify which model you have ?.
In the info screen of the car and under the “charging section”.
If you are able to reduce the charging percentage level down to 800% and the car accepts the command, then you have a long range model.
If the charging level only permits you to set the change to 100% and no lower, then you have the standard range model.
This upper charging level requirement is only my available on the long range model.
Hope this makes sense.
Oh ……. You have the Trophy ? connect model which is the top spec, it came with voice command functions, like “open the sky roof” etc.
The connect model was about £500 more expensive than the standard Trophy ? model ( which have a 22 Trophy long range ),
Then in 2022 the Sky roof was standard equipment on the higher spec models, but this feature was deleted by MG at a later date.
Gen1 model does not have the Ismart phone app connection features that the Gen2 model has also.
And NO the Gen1 model can not be upgraded to receive it.
