Radio Module Initialising

Good morning. Unzip this folder, put all parts on memory stick and update your radio. If you are in London or around i can help you for free.

Evening all.
My 5 radio started displaying “radio module initialising” a couple of days ago. It would still play the station it was on but I couldn’t change station. Resetting the infotainment system didn’t fix it but a brief disconnection of the 12V battery did the job, albeit with a Christmas disco of error messages and lights…hopefully they will al resolve tomorrow when I drive it again.

Had the same issue with my ZS.
It was due for a service so I asked the dealership to disconnect the 12V battery and lo and behold it did the trick!
Radio is back to normal now. I just hope it lasts!

Did they do any updates as my 5 has been in three times for this.

Suggest the battery is disconnected to reset the radio module soonest as my battery was drained. The aa felt the radio module was the culprit as the car was constantly trying to initialise even when turned off. No problems with battery since.

I'm having the same problems

I haven't solved it yet. I've also tried connecting the negative terminal of the 12-volt battery, but it hasn't helped.

Problem solved easy. Unzip this folder, put it on usb stick and uldate your DAB radio.
THANKS it WORKS when unzipped put the .bin file on the usb stick, put the stick in de usb plug( phone sketch)

follow until 30sec, tab "version info" than tab "DAB update", when done, tap the 'red back arrow' until reboot!
