My 2024 HS PHEV has the 360 cameras fitted which are great but I wish there was a way of recording the footage so it can function like a dashcam. Also a security mode like I hear Teslas have when the car is unattended would be nice. It seems all the necessary hardware is there and it just needs some software to implement it.
Is this even possible? I seems like wasted opportunity.

At least the cyberster makes use of this and has integrated dashcam in china, doesn't seem to be available in the euro/uk models though which is a shame.

The ZS has a usb port next to the rear mirror which makes installing a dashcam very easy though, not sure if the HS has it but it should be mandatory in every car that doesn't have a built in dashcam imo.

They do appear to be analogue cameras, you could put a splitter into each of the camera feeds at the camera module side. But I wouldn't want to get warranty issues.
You'd think someone would just give you it as an option. Then there is the issue of finding a small digital video recorder. I have had a look, but they are all MicroSD card based or quite chunky.

I guess someone could modify a raspberry pi to work.

I had a temporary glitch and the 360 cameras stayed on whilst I was driving forward normally. The camera lenses are wide angle making everything appear further away, smaller and distorted so using them as dashcams would be impractical.
