Wanted to change default 2 setting for the regenerative breaking to setting 1 and it does work well for a single journey. Unfortunately it appears to always default back to 2 on end of journey so has to be reset back if you want to continue to use the 1 setting.
Called dealer who advises there 'may' be a software update but as apparently is it's the same in previous ev models then although MG have known about this for some time, they have left it to default again on my new ZS hybrid+

I would suggest that it is worth giving level 2 a go for a while, as it works quite well on the MG3 Hybrid+ and I assume will work the same in the ZS Hybrid+. Its a slightly different way of driving, but if fact works for a more relaxing drive. Level one is more akin to the driving we are all used to, but requires more use of the brakes. If you set the start button to regen braking as Clive and Ann have said, you can call up level one and three when required. Three can be useful on occasions. Bear in mind that the manual suggests only using one and two in icy road conditions.
