What is people experience with Richmond Guildford?
I have an MG4 on order as of the start of this month, have had very little feedback on how things are progressing.
I had a test drive booked, turned up to be told their demo car hadn't arrived, apparently the call center had booked the test drive and weren't aware the demo car wasn't in. Asked if they could get the salesman dealing with my order to give me a call as he wasn't in, mainly wanted to pin down the finance option I want to move forward with. They said they would drop him an email, no callback the next day when he was due back in.
So I called in today and he was busy so left a request for him to call back and still nothing received.
Starting to worry about the service and so after finding out others experience.
 
Absolutely useless, we have a 2022 ZS SR (bought elsewhere but Richmond Guildford is our nearest dealer) and booked a test drive for an MG4. Turned up at 10am on the Sunday (test drive was booked for 10:30 so ok a bit early), both sales guys in the office having a meeting. One comes out, walks straight past us, logs into his computer, makes a coffee, sends a few texts then about 5 minutes later “can I help you?” Sat down and explained why we were there, he stares at his screen, doesn’t ask me a single question or build any form of rapport then gives me a ridiculous quote and trade in offer like he doesn’t even want our business. I walked out and went to where we got the ZS, hey presto human interaction, great service and an order placed for an MG4!

What dealership did you go to as an alternative?
 
Can anyone get through to this dealers service department on the phone ???.It rings forever and nobody seems to take the call .
 
Yes, lacking somewhat I would say, I do get through to someone who takes a message, then they fail to call back.

I normally get through to someone who takes a message, then never a call back. Very much lacking in service I would say.

I get the same problem with the Derby dealer so I left a low star review and comment on Google reviews. That got head offices attention and a promise to improve the situation.
 
I can not stress strongly enough how bad these people are. If you feel the need for a dealer in the Surrey area go elsewhere! I have an HS Phev and travel down to the Isle of Wight to have it services along with our MG3. Richmond had my HS for six weeks and could not find the fault with the EV motor. In the end, Summit Garages rescued the car and took it back to Dudley and resolved the problem. Needed a complete new motor. The car was retrieved by the AA to Guildford, which was the nearest MG dealer to me.

Richmond MG on the Guildford Slyfield estate are very poor indeed. You can't get through to the service department, they gave me ridiculous lead times of over 3 months for a 1st service (diagnostics were even longer), which meant my warranty would have been toast, don't return calls. It's less than 10 miles from me, but I ended up having my car serviced at Palmers Hemel which is just over 40 miles from me.

The sales department is a disgrace...I tried to buy a new car there, but ended up buying it at the Hemel Hempstead dealership instead. I suspect they may not be an MG dealer at some point in the near future.

Really really bad.

100 % agree you cant get through on the phone it just rings and rings the only way to contact them is via the Chat bot .Then that tells me they are in Portsmouth but will pass the message on .Its 12 miles from me but I am tempted to take the car back to Aylesbury where I bought it from .
Unfortunately I took a service plan out through MG and put this dealers name on it. When they did the first service they told me I didn't have a plan and tried to charge me for the Service .Apparently because I didn't take it out directly with them it wasn't on their system .The reason I did it online is because they never got back to me about setting up a plan .
They have so many dealerships and a Hyundai franchise at the same place . But the service is absolutely shocking.
 
You can use your service plan with any MG dealership. I registered mine with Richmond, but used it at Palmers (Hemel Hempstead), no problem.
 
That's good news if I have a problem with Richmond I can use it at Perry's .They rang me to let me know of an update and if I wanted to book my car in .
