Hello everyone 😀 has anyone heard if our nxt software update will allow us to save our presets?
I'm still having turn everything back to my last trips setting everytime I restart the car.. eg I like - eco drive mode, speed limiter on, regen braking on low.

Also lol is anyone else have a issue with rear demister not doing the last few inches of the screen? Thank you people ❤️

The bottom of the rear window is not heated by the window heater, the lines you see are the antenna for the radio.

We might see some items in the future but it is unlikely, and like said before any safety feature will always be turned on upon startup as this is part of the NCAP rating. Eco mode doesn’t do as much as you may think, it mostly flattens the acceleration curve, and does a thing to your A/C settings I believe. If you need to eek out more range just drive a little slower :)

What do you mean it's a NCAP requirement? That doesn't make sense?
To get a five star NCAP rating the safety features (like lane assist, or stability control) need to automatically come on whenever you start the car. They can be turned off by the user, but it has to be a two step procedure (hence the car asking you if you’re sure) and it can’t be disabled permanently. Otherwise no 5 ⭐

Regen mode, eco mode, and speed limiter are all things that I also think should be allowed to be remembered by the car, but it is unlikely MG will bother changing this with software updates

Thank you for that info 😀
Still hope they allow things to save the same as before, my previous car saved everything from the previous journey.
It's not the end of the world but gets annoying if you just nip out of the car say to grab something from a shop and then have to go back into the car to put all your presets back to where they were.. Must say tho I do love the car 😍😍 thanks again

Oh I see what you're saying, I'm only wanting the drive mode, regen strength and cruise control / speed limiter to be saved not the safety settings I keep those all on. They work so well for me; saved me from nearly hitting someone who pulled out on me last week 😭

Everything resets, So I just leave them all on and the regen level 3 braking is always on, which I use anyway and comes on in eco mode. I have put the driving modes on one of my favourites buttons so quick to switch on.

Incidentally, does anyone’s speed limiter actually work? I was so pleased to find one on the car after being told there isn’t one, as I used it all the time in my last car. When I tried it on the MG4, it just lets me carry on accelerating. I tend to use the Cruise Control instead, set at the speed limit, but I prefer the speed limiter as you don’t have to keep cancelling it every time you come to a junction etc.

The speed limit function is a bit limited in my experience, I also always used in my previous cars. You can choose to let the car set the limit based on what signs it sees, but it’s extremely harsh in my experience and often sees signs on side roads etc.

The manual setting only lets you set the speed limit in 5km/h increments and the car will always revert back to cruise control so I don’t bother with it anymore. Wish I could use the star button to cycle through all the options but doubt that will ever come.

If you use your 2 favourites buttons to program in regen strength on one and drive mode on the other, it will be quicker to select what you want, rather than going through the whole menu on the screen, although still a nuisance having to reset.

I use the auto cruise control (because my speed limiter doesn’t do anything ☹️) and it is always stays on ready for me to set the desired speed when I set off.

My speed limiter does not seem to do anything even when it sees a speed sign, it still lets me just do any speed 🤣.

The manual speed limiter setting can be changed in 1mph/kph increments if you push and hold the joystick up or down instead of flicking it. Despite this, it is still useless…..

You can override the speed limit assistance system as described below:

This increment behaviour sounds like older firmware used to operate when in ACC.

After you have selected manual speed limiter via the menus each time you turn the car on, is it possible that it has reverted back to ACC mode some how (check back in the menu) ?

Another thought is when in manual speed limiter mode, do you see the selected speed on the dashboard (just under the word 'lim') go to green when you enable it using the middle of the 3 buttons on the left of the steering wheel, and back to white when you disable it by pressing again?

Pretty much as @ReintjeWA said, I find that manual mode works reliably as described in the manual, it's just a shame this is not the way we want it to work.
