Screen protectors?

Hi all,
I've seen some chat about screen protectors for the 2 screens and the piano black plinth where the gear selector and parking break are. I can see the point in the piano black plinth but are people really worried about the screens? In my my current car and my wife's car, the screens are still in perfect condition "once dusted" so is there something i'm missing

For some people it's more the fact that the screens are gloss finish, so matt screen protectors help with viewability. (And maybe also help to not show fingerprints as much).
