Looks like distribution of the first batch of 1000 is underway (maybe approx 250 demo and showroom cars plus 750 for buyers).

My dealer phoned to say my Trophy was not in his first batch and the second batch is due Oct / Nov.

Does anyone know when the second batch of 1000 is due to arrive at ports in the UK?

Thanks

All we've been told officially is "before the end of the year"

Apologies for repeating my posting from earlier on another thread:

I've had a courtesy call from my dealer who has my MG4 order :( He said due to issues at the docks (re car software problems) they haven't had their MG4 deliveries yet, even for demo/showroom, and they haven't been given a date for when some may arrive. I asked about possible timing of my order delivery and he said 16 weeks and when I asked about their initial allocations he said they still hadn't been told what cars to expect. I'm grateful for their courtesy call, and it does seem like some dealers have this issue, whereas some have actually received their first batch of cars for customers (albeit that might have software issues).

So again here people are speculating about the second batch where dealers already know about their first batch, but some dealers are yet to receive and even have information about their first batch!!

The same thing has happened with regards to orders for the face lifted ZS EV.
Some dealers have little to no information ( that they are willing to share, if they know ) and others are providing updates when they can and some orders are getting through the system ?.
It’s really all over the place !.
After the initial order of MG4’s - I was concerned that it was not going to be a repeat of the ZS EV facelift situation.
Let’s hope not !.

Ordered the MG4 Red Trophy on Monday at Darlington. Dealer unsure of any solid dates but has put delivery for mine December. He said they are still waiting for their demonstrators to arrive but had 4 customer cars in this week, so was able to see them. Hopefully get a test drive next week. Secured order for £100 to get a 2022 delivery?

My dealer said a similar thing: next batch Oct/Nov and we would not get ours until Jan/Feb most likely unless they happen to get one with the right colour/spec that is not allocated.

There seems to be little or no communication between MG China and UK until the boat docks and they figure out what is on it and who is getting what. That's far from ideal but the way I look at it they are beavering away to produce the cars in the new factory and many of the problems we are seeing are because things are happening too quickly rather than too slowly.

If they had waited until they had good stocks, all NCAP approvals done, manuals in place, accessories available, software updates done, dealers trained, etc... then this car would not have been available before mid-to-late 2023.
