Side steps

Hi Samcain,
I live in the Algarve, Portugal. I have an MG HS PHEV which I bought new in February 2023. I fitted a set of "running boards" myself in about 1 hour with no problem at all. There should be absolutely no difference between a 2022 and 2023 year model, after all, it is a simple case of removing some of the plastic oval shaped blanks underneath the car, offering up the boards with the bolts/small plates already loosely fitted, getting the boards in the exact position (back/forward) and then tightening the nuts, job done.
They look really good, and make it much easier for some one with mobility issues ( dodgey knees/hips etc) to enter/exit the car. My wife has had both her knees replaced here in Portugal, and she finds it much easier and less painful getting in and out of the car now.
I bought the boards from Ali Express and they arrived in about 3 weeks. I have purchased a hell of a lot of stuff from them over the last 2 years and never had a problem. They are completely trustworthy and also give excellent value for money. ( I think I paid about 200 Euros for my pair). There is a vast choice of boards to choose from.
I can recommend that you should fit some running boards as it makes the car look just that bit more "premium".
Best of luck
FAA Jock.

Hi jock .looked at a lot on line. There's lots for mg hs but no site says suitable for the phev.can you send me a photo of the brackets if you can .cheers samcain

Hi Samcain,
I cant photo the brackets as the business side of them are embedded in the oval holes in the floor. The running boards I have are for the HS as there is no difference in the frame/floor of the HS and HS PHEV. All the best mate, Jock.

Don't forget to tell your insurance company because it's a modification
I fitted running boards on a subaru and they charged me extra
