Quick question, having two children still at school I often spend a fair amount of time waiting in the car for them. Is it ok to sit there with the main battery on using heater, radio etc. The volt meter only shows about 1 to 2 Amps being drawn. Am I going to burn anything out sat there for 20 minutes etc with the above running ?

From what I understand, it's better to sit in the 'Ready' state, using the HV battery to power everything, you'll only use a few percent max, even with heater running. If using the 12V battery, you could flatten this fairly quickly.

One of the big advantages of Ev's is their energy consumption at low speed or when stationary. Both are the traditional weak points of ice vehicles. Keeping the heating on when parked up or in slow traffic jams in an EV uses hardly any energy in comparison. Enjoy guilt free warmth.
