Since a software update in Dec 2023 my pre-FL LR now charges at a noticeably slower rate than before. It's taken a while to evidence this as there are so many factors relating to charging speeds but recently, on three occasions, I've charged alongside identical model MG5s at multi charger motorway hubs (Ionity & Gridserve, 150kW+ capacity). On every occasion the other MG5 was pulling higher charge rates at higher states of charge than mine. Even on hot days after 2 hours of driving at low battery levels (25-30%) I've never got above about 60kW. On one occasion at Cobham M3 the other MG5 was drawing 52kW at 70% while I was getting 45kW at 50%. And recently at Donington M1 I was getting 60kW at 30% while the other was on 81kW at 40%.
A different MG garage to the one that did the last update ran a software check a couple of weeks ago and said everything is up to date and that as no fault was showing they wouldn't do anything.
Now that I've been able to confirm my suspicions I will book this back in with the garage that did the update in December. But I wondered if anyone here has had a similar experience.
The galling thing is that before the Dec 2023 update the car was charging really well - at Reading East Gridserve once I got 92kW at 37%!
