"snow" mode in cities without snow? Like mud maybe?

I live in ecuador and there's no snow in here. So why would i use that mode...?

Ive been thinking what makes that mod different than custom - setting as driver prefers - over this snow mode? Does it do something clever?

I may run someday into mud or sand. Snow mode would do anything or what can be used in those sticky situations?

In ICE cars with an automatic snow mode would simply start the car in second gear, which is what one would do in a manual when low grip. I guess it limits the instant torque maybe? I know I limits the regen strength.

I almost got stuck in some deep gravel with traction control off, but switching the traction control back on was enough for the car to get going again, I think snow mode isn’t of much more use in mud than the normal traction control would be.

It would be cheaper for MG to keep it on cars that may never see snow than to have two versions.

Maybe you can use it when going up Cotopaxi? (I googled that )
